Our afterschool program runs from 3:15 – 5:30pm Monday – Friday, and is open to anyone age 5 to 12.

Club Descriptions

Book Club

Instructor: Ms. Gatlin

Together, students will choose and read a book while sharing their thoughts and reactions. Through guided discussions, students will expand their love of literature, stories, and characters.

Chess

Instructor: Mr. Dima Barash

Whether you are just beginning your chess journey or are nationally ranked, these small groups help students hone their chess skills through games and exercises. Chances available to participate in tournaments.

Cooking Club

Instructors: Ms. Masha, Mr. G

Interested in learning different cooking and baking techniques? Sign up to make (and eat) delicious creations, from snacks to full meals and desserts – at least one full recipe per session.

Competition Science

Instructor: Ms. Labrecque

Students compete in the SigmaCamp Problem of the Month (POM) while researching and solving complex mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, linguistics and computer science problems.

Debate Club

Instructors: Ms. Kim, Mr. Martin

Learn the basics of arguments, rebuttals, and evidence-informed speech. This club is open to beginners and advanced debaters. With new topics weekly, students will fine-tune their skills.

Destination Imagination

Instructor: Ms. Hurley

Student teams solve global, open-ended STEM, arts, and service learning challenges to develop creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through hands-on, student-driven projects.

Math Team

Instructors: Ms. Dunn, Ms. Wyslouch

Students learn non-standard math topics like fractals, combinatorics, binary numbers, and cryptography while preparing for various math competitions, including Math Kangaroo, Noetic, NEML, MOEMS, IMLEM, Mathcounts, and AMC 8.

Sports (Soccer & Tennis)

Instructor: Mr. Zion (Tennis)

Tennis: Learn and practice tennis skills year-round to keep in shape! Students can play singles, doubles, and will have 1:1 attention from the coach.

Soccer: Let out some energy and learn some new skills with after school soccer! Practice year-round; all are welcome, from beginners to advanced players.

Private Music Lessons

Instructors: Ainur Tuleniyeva, Maria Kotova, Alexander Prokhorov-Tolstoy

Half-hour, 45-minute, or hour-long private lessons available for Piano, Violin, Viola, and Voice.

Voice lessons with Alexander Prokhorov-Tolstoy use the unique ONE TWO THREE SING® method, helping develop confident, healthy vocal technique across styles.

Club Descriptions

Abajur Theater

Instructor: Jenya Shekhter

Through theatrical games, observation, and improvisation, students explore connection and self-expression. Over the year, improvisations develop into a small play that is always performed for parents at an open lesson.

Orff Musical Ensemble

Instructor: Ms. Kotova

Based on Orff’s musical education approach, this program builds essential vocal skills and overall musicality. Students will explore singing, body movement, rhythms, and elements of dance, fostering a deep love for music.

Speech Development

Instructor: Ms. Masha

Russian speech therapy – for individuals or group sessions.

Russian Book Club

Instructor: Ms. Masha

Students will read and discuss books, which will be chosen based on age and interest.

Russian Poetry

Instructor: Ms. Lukina

Playful and lively, children discover classic and contemporary authors, like Kharms, Moritz, Zakhoder, and Chukovsky. Through games and discussion, children learn poetic essentials – meter, rhythm, rhyme, phonetic play, and more!
