Your Role

  • Provide homework help & academic tutoring for K–8 students
  • Lead or assist enrichment clubs in STEM, arts, sports, or other areas of interest

Learning Center Support Specialist

Support students in our Learning Center during afternoon hours

What We’re Looking For

Lumen Academy is seeking a warm, patient, and organized individual to support students in our Learning Center. This role involves working with students who have IEPs and those attending study hall to help them:

  • Stay on track academically
  • Manage their assignments
  • Build executive function skills
  • Receive appropriate accommodations

Who Can Apply?

Candidates should have:

  • Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or therapeutic setting
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • A compassionate, steady presence

A background in education, psychology, or special education is preferred but not required.

Your Role

The Specialist provides one-on-one and small-group support, reinforces classroom expectations, and helps students develop time management, organization, and self-regulation strategies.

The ideal candidate is:

  • Someone who enjoys working with children
  • Understands learning differences
  • Can create a calm, structured environment where students feel supported and capable

Schedule

  • This is an afternoon position
  • Monday through Friday
